1. The Motivation Manifesto
The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard.
The Motivation Manifesto explains how you can stay motivated in every aspect of your life. It also teaches you how to achieve personal freedom and how you can conquer your fears to be able to accomplish your dreams. It is a very well written book that inspires you not to give up and to keep pursuing your goals in life.
Even though this book is about personal freedom and motivation, it can still help you increase your overall happiness. Feeling motivated automatically makes you feel happy and inspired. If you are lacking motivation and want more personal freedom in your life, then this book is for you!
2. Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff
Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff And It’s All Small Stuff by Richard Carlson.
Don’t sweat the small stuff is a simple but very helpful book on how to worry less about the little things that stress you out. It showed me how not to let the things that are out of my control take over my life but instead learn how to react to them in a positive way.
I go back to this book to remind myself that we tend to stress out about problems that we create in our minds, most of which are blown way out of proportion. Overall this book helped me see that I can create a calmer and peaceful life by learning how to react in a more positive way to those unexpected circumstances that happen in life, especially the ones that are out of my control.
3. You Can Be Happy No Matter What
You Can Be Happy No Matter What by Richard Carlson.
This book is obviously about Happiness π Many people think that they can’t achieve happiness until they accomplish all their goals until all their problems are solved until they get every material possession they want. But once they have all these things, they still don’t feel like they have achieved HAPPINESS.
This book showed me never to forget that I CAN be happy no matter what. Happiness is not something that you have to search for and hope to one day you find. Happiness already exists within you; you just need to learn how to bring it out. It can help you understand how to be happy with your life, even when your life is not exactly how you would like it to be. Life doesn’t have to be perfect for you to be content and happy.
4. Habits Of A Happy Brain
Habits Of A Happy Brain by Loretta Graziano Breuning.
Habits of a Happy Brain is about training your brain to release the chemicals that make you feel happy. The happy chemicals are Serotonin, Dopamine, Oxytocin, and Endorphins. It teaches you habits to implement in your daily life; that will get those good chemicals flowing through your body to feel happy. It shows you how to boost your happiness level in just 45 days.
It explains to you how each of those chemicals can make you feel and what you need to do to release those happy chemicals throughout your body. Not only did this book help me to increase my happiness but it also helped me create healthy habits to become a healthier person. It also helped me to become aware of what I do every day to keep enhancing my health and happiness day by day.
5. Mind Over Medicine
Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself by Lissa Rankin M.D.
(I have this book on my iPad, I don’t have a hardcover that is why there is no picture of it)
Last but definitely not least is Mind Over Medicine. Reading this book completely changed my life and that is why I had to have it in my top 5. I learned that what you think, feel and believe can change your body, health, and life. In this book specifically, it explains how your body is a self-healing mechanism and how our minds are so powerful.
Our body heals itself, just like when we fall and get bruised, it heals and repairs itself. What this book teaches is how you can control your self-healing process with your mind. And how your spirituality, environment, creativity, relationships, and nutrition are critical for your self-healing process and your overall health.
That is why I always mention that having a positive atmosphere, eating nourishing foods, doing what you love, enjoying life and being happy is so important! When your mind is happy, and at peace, your body heals very rapidly. Your health is so important, whether you have a health issue or not I still recommend this book to everyone. That way you won’t ever take your health for granted, and you will learn to listen to the signs your body gives you before it becomes something even more severe over time.
I hope these books end up helping you just as much as they have helped me! I love reading personal growth books if you have any good recommendations let me know in the comments below! If you have trouble finding time to read, then I would recommend you try audible and get two free audiobooks. Instead of having to find a chance to read books through your busy schedule, you can just listen to them while you’re in traffic, cleaning, working out, etc. It’s a great way to keep learning regardless of how busy you are.
