In the past, on Sundays I would just go with the flow, I never really did anything productive. Now that I am married and work from home, I realized that I need to take advantage of Sunday’s to prepare for the week and get more organized. I wanted to share with youย today how I now use Sunday’s more wisely and how it has benefited my entire week!
So let’s start with the 5 things to do on Sunday for a better week ๐
1. CLEAN-UP & ORGANIZE
I love waking up Monday morning to a clean and organized home. It feels like a fresh start to the week, and it helps me get motivated to start getting work done. Take some time to deep clean your home and organize, you don’t have to organize your entire home, but I personally like organizing the fridge, our pantry, and anything that we use most often during the week. Since it’s Sunday, you can askย your family to help you out too ๐
2. DO LAUNDRY
Iย don’t always get a chance to wash everything on Sunday because there might be a family gathering or something else important that we needed to get done. But most of my Sunday’s I wash everything… our towels, blankets, clothes, etc.
It’s nice to start the week knowing all your clothes are clean and knowing that you don’t have to wash during the week anymore ๐
Since it’s just my husband and I; I only wash once or twice a week but I know some of you mommas out there do laundry almost every day and I give major props to you!! ๐
3. PLAN OUT YOUR WEEK
Sunday is a perfect day to plan out your week. I simply write in my planner all the important things that I need to get done during the week, I write down appointments, etc.
I also…
Write down my goals for the week.
Write down meals for the week.
I check the weather for the week.
4. UNWIND
I usually like getting the above tasks done early so that I could have the rest of the day to unwind and relax for the week ahead. Iย usually like taking a nice walk in nature with my husband, spend time with family, or bake something and watch a movie ๐ You can do whatever makes you feel happy and relaxed.
I have a post on how to de-stress if you would like more ideas. You can read it here.
5. SLEEP EARLY
Lastly, is to sleep early…ย Most likelyย you have to wake up early on Monday to start working, or take your kids to school, etc. So make sure to sleep early so you could be well rested and ready to conquer the week ๐
It’s okay if you can’t get all these 5 tips done every Sunday but I just wanted to share this with you because once I started doing this I saw my week would flow a lot better and I felt much more organized!
Great advice! I loved this! I’ve recently realized that being a bit productive on Sunday really helps me feel less stressed at the beginning of the week. The point about getting laundry done for Monday is great too. <3
Yes exactly! That is the same way I feel as well ๐ Thanks for sharing, I hope you have a wonderful week! <3

Those suggestions would certainly make for a more relaxing and focused entry into the week.
They really do help out to start my week right ๐
Thanks for your comment!

Great tips! The hard part is doing them. ๐ I have to admit, I really like sneaking a nap in sometime or sleeping in occasionally on a Sunday.
Of course, taking a nap and sleeping in is a great way to feel well rested for the week ๐

I love this! I find sleeping early to be a really important one, because being off to work on a Monday morning you need to be refreshed for kicking off the week! I usually try to get all my washing and cleaning done on Saturday, the sooner it’s out of the way the better!
Yes I agree, so true! Thanks for sharing that with us Isabelle ๐

Couldn’t agree more. Sunday is my day to get organized for the week! My husband and I cook most of the week’s food and portion/freeze on Sundays. Then we are ready to go!
I try to get a lot done on Sundays too but get irritated as my husband and son sit and play video games all day and my daughter acts as my shadow!! Haha
Great advice… I usually don’t do much around the house (except maybe laundry) on Sundays. This would definitely help make my week start off smoothly.
These are great tips! I completely agree I like to start the week with fresh towels and sheets and a full night’s sleep too!
I so need to use these tips. I always feel behind on Monday thank you great post!!
Great tips! Honestly I take my Sunday rest days pretty serious lol. I look at it like mentally preparing myself for the week ahead.
Planning out the week is definitely key for me!
I love using my Sunday to plan out the next week, so that I can have goals to accomplish. I’m going to start using it to clean as well, I think it’ll help me feel better about my house. Thank you for the great tips!
I love this! I feel the same way. I like to have a clean house, meals and snacks prepped for the week. It makes for a smooth week.
This is a good reminder that I need to get more sleep! And it’s always good to start your week off with a plan!
I just started doing all of these things recently on Sunday’s and you’re right, it really does start my week out well. Thanks for sharing. Pinned for reference later. ?
These are very important things to do to prepare for the week. It’s very easy to get burnt out if you don’t prepare yourself. Thank you for sharing.
great tips, i really need to do better planning out my week ahead on sundays
It’s always interesting to read posts like these and see how others start off their week on a good note. ๐
I’m terrible about keeping up with laundry sometimes (and it’s just my own!), so I could definitely use some work in that area.
I find that it helps me too if I try to plan out my day the night before and right down a short to-do list.

I definitely need to try the laundry on a Sunday, you are so right, going into the week knowing its done must be refreshing! I also meal prep, and plan grocery shop but i shop on a Monday because I find the veg to be a bit limp on a Sunday! great tips – thank you!
Really great idea to get some chores done on Sunday. During the week I’m busy so I sometimes do these things in a rush to not have to do them on Sunday, but, actually, it would be much better to spend a few hours on this on Sundays and have the rest of the day to relax.
I love Sundays! I always plan out next week’s Bullet Journal spread, review my goals, and plan new ones ๐

I like to put the finishing touches on my blog post (or admittedly hurry up and write it for our Monday post schedule if I’ve fallen behind!) and do some meditations on Sunday evenings. I love your list, especially the sleep early tip – I can definitely get behind that one!
Great post! Sundays are a great day for both planning the week ahead and unwinding.
This is a good list! I try to practice most of these but still fail miserably regarding the “sleep early” one.
Great advice!! I’ve definitely needed to be more productive on the weekends, especially Sunday in order to prepare for the week. Definitely going to try this!! ?
Great post! I love Sundays but I normally use them as an excuse to be lazy and lounge in my PJs all day. Your tips are really helpful at getting me ready for the week ahead. Will def try them out. Thanks ๐
Great tips! I really do try and get some chores done on Sunday but sometimes it’s so hard. However, I definitely relax a little on Sunday and watch a few tv shows with the hubby!
I always do this. Also, through the week, I usually don’t have time to cook, so I make sure to cook myself a nice fulfilling meal or go out to eat that actually looks like a decent meal (my meals through the week usually consist of only snacks).
This is such a helpful post! ๐
Thank you so so much. Preparing for the week is so important and sets the tone for the week. I’ve been trying to do that lately ๐
You are so sweet ๐ Thank you very much! I am so happy you found this post helpful.
I hope you have a wonderful week!

These are great tips Janett. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! ๐
These are all lovely suggestions but you forgot a very important one. How about dedicating sometime on Sunday to feeding your soul. A spiritual Sunday is still very important for yourself and for your family to share. The love of Christ or your higher being power does a lot to get you through the day and through the week..
Yes, I completely agree! That’s actually the first thing that I do on Sunday morning. Feeding yourself spiritually is important to do that every single day. Thanks so much for sharing your helpful tip ๐
I hope you have a lovely day!
