6 Ways To Bring Positivity Into Your Life

There is a lot of negativity in this world and it can be easy to fall into it but I have learned that there are things we can do to stay positive and live a positive life. Living a positive lifestyle doesn’t mean you will be feeling positive all the time but you are making a conscious effort to be positive and look for ways to bring positivity into your life. By you deciding to read this post it shows that you want to find more ways to bring more positivity in your life and I commend you for that 🙂

Today I will be sharing with you 6 simple ways you can bring more positivity into your life. Let’s begin…

1. SEE THE POSITIVE IN NEGATIVE SITUATIONS

We don’t live in a perfect world, so we need to learn how to see the positive when we are in a negative situation. This one might be the hardest one to do because when you are going through something negative, it doesn’t seem like anything good could come out of it.

What you can do is ask yourself: What is this bad situation trying to teach me?  What can I learn from this so that it never happens again? Train your brain to see the good in a negative situation.

No matter how positive you are and how amazing your life might be, we will all encontour challenges in our life. So it’s good to learn how to deal with them and try our best to see the positive and know that there is a way out.

2. HAVE A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT

Having a positive environment is crucial to bring more positivity into your life. “Your Environment” involves your social environment, living environment, and what you consume day-to-day.

Social Environment

You need to be sure that you surround yourself with people who make you happy, are positive, lift you up when you’re feeling down, inspire and motivate you. If you hang out with people, who are constantly complaining about life, being negative, talking gossip all the time, at some point they will drain the life out of you. Make sure to choose wisely who you allow into your life because they will either be a positive or negative influence

Living Environment

Your living environment is your home, workplace, car, etc. You can read my post on 6 Ways To Be Happy In Your Current Home and it will explain better in detail on what you can do to create a better living environment 🙂

Information You Consume

Be aware of the information you consume daily because this can either benefit you or affect you in a negative way. This involves what type of music, TV shows, movies, videos, etc that you consume.  Instead of wasting your time on things that are not beneficial to you, listen to inspirational podcasts, read motivational books, nourish your mind with positive and inspiring information.

3. HAVE POSITIVE SELF-TALK

We can change our entire outer life with positive things but if we don’t change the way we talk to ourselves, nothing else will matter. I wrote a blog post on the benefits of positive self-talk and how you can start practicing it in your everyday life. You can read that post here.

4. BECOME MORE APPRECIATIVE

Being appreciative and thankful will make you a much happier and positive person. Because you will rewire your brain to think of all that you have instead of thinking of all that you lack.

It’s amazing how powerful a simple, sincere thank you can be. Be thankful for the little things in life, say thank you more often. Send out random thank you texts to your spouse, parents, friend, or family member and watch how happy you will feel and you will make them happy as well 🙂

5. CONTINUE IMPROVING YOURSELF

We all have something we can improve on, continuing to improve yourself will always benefit your life in a positive way. It’s also good to note that just because you are continuously improving yourself, doesn’t mean you don’t accept yourself. I have learned to accept myself the way I am while striving to become better. I will continue to learn and grow and be a student for life.

Exercise your brain muscles by challenging yourself to learn something new every day, maybe something that can change your life for the better. Like learning a new language, learn new words and how to use them correctly, learn about a new occupation or even how to start a business, your choices are endless.  The goal is to continue growing as a person because the more you know the more opportunities that will be available to you.

6. LIVE EACH DAY WITH PURPOSE

Whether you are living your dream life or not, everyone can live each day with purpose. I know this might sound cliché, but live everyday like if it was your last. Enjoy and be grateful for your family, your home, your health, your life in general. Cherish every moment you have, stay inspired and do things that keep you inspired and motivated.

In summary, if you learn to see the positive in negative situations, create a positive environment, have positive self-talk, become more appreciative, continue improving yourself, and live each day with purpose. All this will bring you more joy and positivity into your life and who wouldn’t want that 🙂

A positive environment is so true! It’s really hard to keep a positive outlook on things if you’re constantly surrounded by negativity. It could be as simple a stepping outside from a gloomy dark room that helps.

These are so good! I used to be a huge news junkie and over the summer I stopped watching because I realized I was filling my environment with negative information. Cutting back on the negative (or useless) information I consumed has definitely helped with positivity.

I have a little question regarding No.2 where it talks about your social environment. I am a teen in high school so things like people I live with or people I see everyday I have no power over. At home and school most of the people there only bring about negativity and that tends to get to me, like I said I am a teen so I can’t just decide to leave my parent’s home and live somewhere else or just choose to go to another school and our neighborhood isn’t completely safe so I don’t have the option of going out anytime I want to find new friends when I am not in school so what do I do?

      Hey Ibrahim,

Thank you for your comment! I completely understand what you mean. It’s not always easy to get rid of everything and everyone that’s negative because maybe it could be your own family, at school, or coworkers, which is understandable.

We won’t always be able to get rid of all kind of negativity in our life which is normal and okay. We aren’t able to control everything in our life.

The tip I could give you is to focus on what you can control, there will always be negative people in this world but as long as you keep what you consume positive, it will be a huge help to help you stay positive as well. Like, listening to positive and motivational podcasts, videos, and articles. Make sure the movies and TV you watch is mostly positive.

There is this video I came across a while back that was very helpful for me on how to deal with negative people in your life. This is the link to the youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5DoDfAjIl0

That way you can watch it as many times as you need. I found the video helpful for me because we will of course always have to deal with negative people and I like how it gives you tips on how to deal with negative people that are in your life.

I hope you find the video helpful as it was for me! 🙂

If you still have any questions feel free to let me know.
