Even if you are a positive and an optimistic person, there will be days when you will feel unmotivated and like doingΒ nothing at all. Have you been feeling this way lately? We all feel that way at times and it can be hard to get excited and motivated again when you are being weighed down by this negative feeling. So I wanted to help you out by sharing with you some simple tips on how to get motivated right now.
SET A GOAL THAT GETS YOU EXCITED
I don’t know about you, but when I feel unmotivated or unproductive it’s because I have been focusing way too much on one specific area of my life, without realizing that I’ve been neglecting the other areas of my life that are necessary in order to feel happy and fulfilled.
Is there a particular area in your life that you have been neglecting?
Set goals for the areas of your life that you have been disregarding lately. Whether it is your health, relationships, marriage, family, self-care, etc.
Sometimes we might feel unmotivated because we focusΒ too much of our time on a certain part of our life while forgetting the other important areas of our life to.
If you have needed a break and need some time off, then set a goal that this year you will get a week off and travel somewhere.
If you have neglected your health, set a goal to start working out or eating healthier so you could feel good and have more energy.
I am sure you get the point π Set a goal that gets you excited and that you need to work on!
STAY FOCUSED ON YOUR GOAL
AΒ tip that keeps me motivated to achieve my goal is to focus on my goal every day.
I read books about it, I read articles, watch videos, etc. This helps me stay on track to not forget about my goal and I love reading success stories because that gets me even more motivated to continue on with my goal and not give up until I achieve it! π
It also gives me the confidence to believe in myself because if someone else was able to accomplish that goal, then I could too.
So set smaller goals every day because small steps every day can lead to big results in the future.
I have this post that dives deeper in achieving your goals π
LEARN TO TAKE BREAKS & TAKE A STEP BACK
Feeling unmotivated can also be because you are overwhelmed by all that they are doing and not seeing the results as fast as they would like too. Sometimes feeling like they just want to give up.
Trying to do too much in your life sometimes ends up making you feel tired and drained.
So learn to take a step back because sometimes all you need to get motivated again is to take a break.
I am naturally a positive and optimistic person, so the majority of the time I am always excited about life but of course, I am not perfect and I have my days when I feel blah and unmotivated.
So when I find myself unmotivated, what helps is to take a day off and simply do what I love and I find myself excited and motivated again.
You can do whatever you love and makes you happy and watch yourself feeling motivated all over again π
If you want to dive deeper and learn more about how to sustain motivation I recommend reading The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard. This book has to be one of my favorite books about motivation because it shows you how to STAY motivated throughout your life.
If you know someone who has felt unmotivated who might need to read this post, make sure to share it with them!

So true. Sometimes all that is needed is to take a step back.

Excellent tips on how to stay motivated. I, too focus on my goals it just makes you feel so much better. Just keep moving everything will come into place. My motto is never give up. Thanks for sharing this with us!
I’m always looking for ways to motivate myself to get all the things on my to do list crossed off. I love the idea of watching or reading something each day to keep me invested in my goal accomplishing process!
Thanks Molly! Glad you found something you enjoyed π
Hope it helps you out <3
Taking a step back and giving myself a moment to breathe helps me continue to stay motivated. I burn myself out too quickly! This is a great post. Thank you!
I can relate! It really does help to take a step back and do things you enjoy π
I find that making a list of the things I need to get done motivates me! Not only because I can see them, but also it sort of feels like a brain dump. Sometimes theres so many things I need to do, I don’t know where to start.
I like your idea about not trying to do too much. I feel like I need to just aim to achieve a few things a day rather than 20, but make them big things that have impact.
Good tips and strategies! I’ve got a lot on my plate this week and I’ve found breaking it down into little chunks helps so much.
Amazing post, helps me motivate myself. And the one of the most important things to stay motivated is not to procrastinate.
I am worried I am doing too much too- today I just feel super unmotivated and a little drained. Self care is so important, like you said! I can feel myself getting sick because of stress right now- but luckily, most of it is “good stress”- from vacation coming up and a new job.
Great tips, especially the thinking about your goal daily. I stay motivated by following alot of your same practices. Some days are harder than others, but it’s always on my mind.
Hi Janett,
Excellent post! Made me think about taking a step back and recharging my batteries. π
Take care,
Dani
(P.S. I’ve pinned your post to my Pinterest board “Personal Development)
LOVE this. I’ve been trying to take more breaks throughout the day, because I find that if I keep going, going, going (which I sometimes, sadly, have the tendency of doing) the brain can only take in so much new info. Recharging the batteries is where it’s at, at least that way, you come back with a renewed energy π Thanks for sharing this!
My biggest problem with motivation is that I try to do too much.
