“If you’re having a bad day, you can restart your day at any time. You don’t have to wait until the next day to start over. Just sit down, breath, and start again.”
Have you ever had one of those days that you just wish would be over with as soon as possible? Or days when you just feel uninspired and unmotivated? Or you are simply just in a bad mood? Well, I’m sure we all have! But I have learned throughout life that you can always restart a bad day at any moment. So here I have some helpful tips on how to restart a bad day so you can enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂
Let It Out & Let It Go
Acknowledging what is making you have a bad day or be in a bad mood is the first step to change your perspective of the day. Whether it’s something little or big, it’s always best to let it out.
If you have someone you trust, talk to them and let them know how you feel.
If you prefer, you can also just write out everything you are feeling.
It’s not healthy to hold things in; I know from experience. External things will not make anything better if you haven’t fixed your inner feelings first. If you let it out and let it go, you will feel a huge relief!
Decide To Restart Your Day
Once you acknowledged what was making you have a bad day, and you let it go, now you can restart your day by consciously deciding to do so.Regardless of how bad your day might be, you can always choose to distance yourself or your mind from that situation and start fresh.
Distract Your Mind
If you are working on something, and you feel frustrated, instead of overwhelming yourself and not doing the job correctly it’s better to take a break, go for a walk and distract your mind. When you feel more at ease, you can come back to it, and you will work on it with a fresh new outlook.
A few other things you can do to distract yourself if you don’t have a task or project to get done are:
- Listening to uplifting music
- Walk or exercise
- Do a hobby you enjoy like painting, drawing, singing, dancing, sports, etc.
- Watch a funny video or movie
You can do something that will help you restart and enjoy the rest of the day.
Be Patient
Some days will be a little harder to restart than others. If you made a mistake that day, learn from it and do better next time. You have to be patient and give it some time. Don’t give up, keep a positive attitude and choose to make your day better.
Summary
Always know that whatever you are going through will get better, especially if you make an effort to better it. Don’t continue from having a bad day, to a bad week, bad month, bad year… bad life. Decide now that you will start fresh and enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

I need to remember this! As a stay at home mom things can change on a dime and I’m instantly having a bad day and then it just drags on.
I think that the acknowledgement part is probably the most challenging thing to do, yet everything else will follow after we’ve accepted what went wrong, and when we know that we need to turn the situation around. I personally find it helpful whenever I open up to someone about what I struggle with; it builds accountability as well.
Thank you for sharing these helpful tips with us, Janett!
