7 Ways To Increase Blog Traffic

It’s very simple to start a blog, but for your blog to be successful, you need to get a good amount of traffic and continue to increase blog traffic. You would expect that having a great looking blog and having great content would be enough for traffic to automatically come your way. But in reality it’s not like that, I have learned that blogging is 20% content creation(writing blog posts, creating products, etc.) and 80% promoting your blog posts/products.

So I will be sharing 7 things you can do today to start increasing blog traffic! 🙂 Let’s get started!

7 Ways To Increase Blog Traffic

This post contains affiliate links. You can read full disclosure policy here.

1. SHARE ON FACEBOOK GROUPS

I  wish I would have started FB groups when I started blogging back in 2016. There are so many FB Groups out there for bloggers so that you can promote your blog, social media, etc. Some FB groups also give helpful blogging tips that could help you out.

It’s a great way to meet other bloggers in your niche to collaborate and simply get to know more bloggers.

I actually have my own FB group for bloggers where you can promote your blog and ask any questions you might have about blogging. I would love to have you! You can join by clicking here 🙂

2. HAVE SHARE BUTTONS

I have share buttons on each of my pictures for anyone who would like to share my blog posts with their followers. If you look below, I also have share buttons so my readers could share it on their social media when they would like. This helps your blog get more traffic by having it seen by more people.

Tip:

  • I use the SumoMe Plugin for the share buttons.
  • I use the Pinterest Pin It Button on my pictures.

3. SHARE ON PINTEREST

This section is going to be a long one because Pinterest is my #1 social platform that gets me the most traffic and I have heard almost every blogger say the same. So I want to be very detailed to help you have success with Pinterest.

Tip #1:

To be successful on Pinterest, you need to pin at least 50 + times a day. Before when I barely started blogging I would do this manually, but it will take SO much of my time, and I wouldn’t see traffic coming in from Pinterest because I would pin around the same time.

So I decided to automate my Pins using Tailwind. I pin and repin articles that are compatible with my niche, and I pin them to my boards and group boards.

Since automating my pins, I get about 500+ followers a month, lots of repins and traffic to my blog.

You can try out Tailwind free for 30 days by clicking here.

Tip #2:

Something else that is really important to be successful on Pinterest is to Pin on group boards. You can use Pin Groupie to find group boards in your niche to Pin your blog posts. Just make sure to follow the rules in each group board.

Group boards usually have hundreds or thousands of people and when you pin something on the group boards most of those followers get a chance to see your pins as well, which means more traffic for you! Yay! 🙂

Tip #3:

You can read this helpful article from Pinterest on other useful tips that will help you drive more traffic to your blog.

If you use any of these tips in this blog posts, you will notice the most benefits and most traffic by using Pinterest.

4. STUMBLE UPON

StumbleUpon is also an excellent way to drive traffic to your blog. It took me a little while to understand how it works, but it is fairly simple. You can sign up with StumbleUpon here and start adding your blog posts. Make sure to like other people’s articles and blog posts as well 🙂

5. COMMENT ON OTHER BLOGS

Commenting on blogs will get you noticed by other readers and catch their interest to go check out your blog. Plus you will learn something new and get to know more bloggers; I have actually made blogger friends by commenting on other blogs.

So there are many benefits of commenting on other blogs! 🙂

6. GUEST POST

Guest posting on other sites gets you more exposure and credibility. You will get noticed by their audience and get a backlink to your site. It’s a great way to grow your traffic and become more known in the blogging world 🙂

Here goes a great article with a list of 700+ guest post sites: List of 700+ Guest Posting Sites for 2017

7. SHARE ON ALL SOCIAL MEDIAS

I currently share my blog posts on…

  1. Pinterest
  2. Facebook
  3. Quora
  4. LinkedIn
  5. Instagram
  6. Google +
  7. StumbleUpon

Although I get most of my traffic from Pinterest, the rest still drive some traffic to my site as well, but it is not nearly as close as Pinterest does. But I still think it’s important to share in all social media because little by little you will continue to grow and it will continue to drive more traffic to your blog as time goes by.

Getting lots of traffic doesn’t happen overnight. You need to be patient and not give up because, in the end, it will be so worth it! Plenty of popular bloggers have been blogging for years and years. Give yourself some time, don’t give up and soon you will start seeing the traffic you have wanted! Keep going and don’t ever give up 🙂

Hi, I saw your link to your blog on Facebook! Just wanted to say this is a great post, and something I’ll definitely need to look into more. Do you have any tips for people that can’t afford to pay for things that pin automatically? Are there any programs or apps out there that you can do this for free? Thanks so much!

There is no way I can pin 50-100 times a day. My questions is, do you pin 50-100 different blog post a day or do you pin 2 or 3 of the same blog post each day? And to different group board or to the same boards? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks so much and great post!

I repin my blog posts and other people’s blog posts. I pin both new and same blog posts daily to different group boards as well as my personal boards 🙂

You can start off with just pinning 30 to 50 pins a day that way little by little you can get used to it.

This is the second post I read today mentioning Tailwind, so I’m taking it as a sign to try it out! I’ve been struggling to get views on my blog but hopefully this will help, thank you!

Love these tips and how in-depth you go about it. I’m new at blogging and I’m always looking for ways to drive more traffic to my blog. I was thinking whether or not to use Pinterest as a platform. I should give it a try to see, I mean I already am an avid fan of Pinterest, so why not use it as a SM platform for my blog!
    Thanks for the awesome tips!

I am curious, how many times a day do you schedule on Tailwind. Right now I have 22 time slots per day. Would love to hear your advice.
