What I am about to share with you today is something that changed my life for the better. It helped improve my health, achieve self-love, and improved all areas of my life.
What I am talking about is…
Positive Affirmations (positive self-talk).
Before I honestly thought positive affirmations were silly and I didn’t believe it would benefit me in any way. I didn’t understand how thinking and saying positive affirmations to myself could change my life. But one day I decided to try it out because I was at a time in my life where I needed to improve myself. After practicing positive affirmations every day for over a month, I realized how incredibly powerful it was! I also realized that the doctor that suggested positive affirmations wasn’t crazy after all 🙂
In this post, I will be sharing the benefits of positive affirmations and how you can implement it so you can change your life as well!
The Amazing Benefits Of Positive Affirmations
- Increases your happiness level
- Help improve every aspect of your life
- You gain more confidence in yourself
- You can re-wire your brain to think more positively
- You are more aware of your negative self-talk
- You learn to control your mind and not let your thoughts control you
- You become more positive and optimistic
These were some of the benefits that I saw and much, much more!
How To Practice Positive Affirmations
First, you want to start off by just focusing on one area of your life. For example, I started off with my health. You can start with whatever you want to improve yourself or your life.
Then, you want to write down the affirmations in present tense.
For example:
I am healthy.
I am strong.
I am beautiful.
Once you are done writing them down, read them to yourself out loud. Make sure that you feel what you are saying and believe it to be true.
In the beginning, you have to be very patient with yourself. Because at first you will feel like you are just lying to yourself but your body listens to what you say to yourself, and it starts to act accordingly.
Tip: Whatever is the hardest affirmation for you to believe. Repeat that sentence to yourself more than once.
Whatever you say to yourself with emotion, generates thoughts, ideas and behaviors consistent with those words.”-Brian Tracy
The first time I tried positive affirmations I just gave up the first day and thought it didn’t work. But I tried again and kept doing so for over a month, and that is when I noticed a difference. Continue until you start to see your words come true and even then continue doing this for the rest of your life!
It’s like working out and expecting to see results in one day. It takes at least one month to see results. It is continuous, and if you want to notice a huge improvement in your life, you have to continue doing it.
There might be days when you don’t have time to write positive affirmations, and that is okay. As long as you make time during the day to say the affirmations to yourself in your head.
Why It’s Important To Practice Everyday
We have around 70,000 thoughts a DAY. Most of these thoughts are negative and do not benefit us in any way. Especially when we have negative self-talk, negative self-talk lowers your confidence and makes you feel unhappy.
We can sometimes be our worst critics. By practicing positive affirmations every day you will rewire your mind to start thinking more positively about yourself and your life! Positive affirmations are simply saying loving and positive thoughts to yourself that come to life.
You will improve yourself and your whole life by continuing to do this. You won’t ever know unless you try it 🙂
You can either think positively or negatively. Both will affect your life in a positive or negative way. I hope this helped and inspired you to be kinder to yourself and start using positive affirmations to better yourself.
This is great! I need to start doing this in my life. I wonder if it works the same by saying positive affirmations about the people around you too?
That is such a good point… I am sure it does! 🙂
Thank you very much for your kind comment, Alissa <3
I hope you have a lovely day!
