I love finding new ways to stay organized and ways to be more productive during the day. If you are reading this, I am sure you do too! These are steps that I try my best to implement every day, and I notice a huge increase in my productivity.
Here are five steps you can take to help you stay organized and stay productive throughout the day! 🙂

1| Write Down Your 3 Main Priorities For The Day
Write down your top 3 priorities for the day, you can either do this the night before or the day of. I usually write it down the night before so I don’t forget the following day. But you can do what works best for you!
Just make sure to write down the three tasks that will make you feel satisfied at the end of the day.
2| Break Down Your Priorities Into Small Steps
Now, to ensure you get those three priorities done that day, write down small steps you would need to take for each priority.
Writing down small steps for each priority will help you get started and get it done. Sometimes we might not want to start a project because it sounds complicated even to begin. But when you break it down into small steps it doesn’t seem as hard anymore. This always works for me!
If one of your priorities in life is to have a clean home, make sure to check out House Cleaning Sacramento and you can be sure they will make your home look sparkly clean.
3| Write Down the rest of your tasks
Most likely you will have other small tasks to do during the day. So writing them down will help ensure you don’t forget them and you get them done. Sometimes you won’t be able to get everything done, and that’s okay, don’t beat yourself up for it.
Just move those tasks for the following day because you at least got your 3 top priorities done for the day 🙂
Something that helps and that I personally use is a productivity planner like this one. It helps keep me organized and remain productive throughout the day.
4| Use Time Blocking
Time blocking is an effective way to use your time wisely during the day. I never thought I would like this since your pretty much planning out each hour of your day. But I LOVE IT! This helps you stay on track all day and makes you the most productive.
For example:
8am-9am: Eat breakfast & clean the house
10am-11am: Do stretches & work out
Etc…
It’s such a simple strategy that works to keep you productive all day!
5| Remove Distraction
Distraction is the killer of productivity. Make sure not to get distracted by other unimportant things during the day. Of course, if you need a break, you can take some time for yourself. Just don’t let distraction take over you and then realize you didn’t get your priorities done for the day.
Bonus Tip:
Eat nourishing, energizing foods and stay hydrated throughout the day. It will help keep your mind awake and alert to help you stay productive during the day.
Also, don’t forget to make time for yourself every day. Whether that is….
- Going out for a walk
- Taking a bath
- Reading a book
- Drinking a calming tea
- Watching the sunset
Do something that will help calm you down and at the same time re-energize you.
I need to break down my big priorities Because sometimes I don’t want to even begin, that is Such a good point. Time blocking sounds like a good idea too. I will have to try those out
Sounds great! Yes both always help me… hope it helps you too!
Let me know how it goes 🙂

I love this post. I’m definitely going to be trying the time blocking tip. I do write down all my tasks for the day, because it’s such a great feeling to cross something off a to-do list 😀
What a gorgeous blog! And these are really great tips! I have found it very impactful to do most of these too and even with three boys have been able to be (mostly) productive. Time blocking is definitely the most beneficial tip. Thank you!
I love the idea of writing my top three priorities the night before. I feel like once I realize everything I forgot to do, it’s too late to do them. It would help to have a clear view of the day.
This post was really helpful, this year has been a little busy for me and I really appreciate the great tips. Especial the tips on blocking time for certain activities, this is something I need to practice doing to maximize my time.
Love this !!! I definitely need to time
Block !
being productive is so far my main focus at this period of my life. Because I’m a big procrastinator due to laziness and poor time management.
the time blocking tip is so hard to do and to stick to it but at the same time, it’s so beneficial.
Thanks for sharing Janett. Very appreciated.
